Cheeky Wipes
so originally the idea of reusable wipes didnt really appeal to me, i'll admit that but with my new guruing i decided as i was going to sell them i really should give them a go!
so for the last week or so i've been trying the cheeky wipes kit.
in the full kit you get two tubs (one with fresh wipes written on and one with mucky wipes) two lil bags with the same written on for out and about (the mucky one zips apart to go straight in the wash!) a load of wipes and some essential oil mixes (again one for fresh and one for mucky)
setting up is nice and easy - you fill the tubs with water and add a few drops of oil - then bung in the wipes :)
take out clean wipe - use - bung in mucky container - then you bung the lot in the wash with your normal load! once out the wash they dont need drying - you just bung them straight back in container with more solution - easy peasy!
i forgot to mention the mucky tub has a net bag you put in for the wipes which you bung them in the wash with so no need to touch mucky wipes!
i will admit now i did add a lil baby wash to my solution just to give it that extra suds but thats all down to personal choice!
the set lasts me a few days (depending on how many changes madame requires!) and i either bunged in with normal wash or in with nappies so no extra loads, brilliant!
they wipe really well too! so far i've only needed one wipe per change (except for one maaaaaaaaaaaassive poo lol) even at most poo changes!
so all in all im very impressed and will be continuing to use them :) thus saving myself loads of money not having to buy wipes all the time. I believe the average saving is something around £200 a year dependent on how many packs you buy a week and what brand. so for the cost of approx. £30 these wipes work out really economical!
also i have used the wipes for myself - sweaty forehead on hot day etc - ooooo they were really nice and cool and refreshing! and i've used to give paigey a clean over (mucky hands etc) and they have worked great :)

Moooo....
yey at last this morning i have my first cow print nappy! such a sad thing to get excited about maybe but it's something i've wanted for soooooo long now lol.
last week i got a pack of 5 babylegs and one of which was also cow print, cant wait to try them on paigey!
all i need now is a lil t shirt to complete the outfit!
on another note this new nappy is quite interesting as it has adjustable leg elastic instead of adjustable front poppers so will defiantly be one to get used to!

By the light of my iphone...
There are many things you find yourself doing as a new mum which you would never have imagined before. Last night was one just example.
Paige has decided this week to have another growth spurt (must have been her choice she timed it perfectly with russ going away at the weekend) anyway so basically we aree back to feeding every couple of hours through the night >.<
So half one rolls around and madame screams for food - so i get it. well turns out she was lucky cuz as i sit and start feeding her the power goes out in the whole street. Gods knows what i would have done to get her a bottle and warm it if this had happened first!
Anyway so now im sat in pitch black - i cant even see baby or bottle let alone put the two together! which leads to me calling russ - the powers gone out! - so he brings in his iphone so i have some sort of light - just enough to see the bottle into her mouth!
about ten minutes later he brings up his laptop and yey better light lol! the things we do hey.
luckily the power cut only lasted half an hour so we had the monitor back just as we settled her down again :)

Buggy woes
To start with I had no idea what I wanted in the world of buggies and it took absolutely ages to find one i wanted. Eventually after playing with one in a shop I came to decide on a hauck manhattan and then ordered it online later cheaper!
Boy do i regret everything about it now. It was meant to be perfect - light weight - changes from a lie flat pram to parent facing or forward facing pushchair and even has a carseat which can clip into the frame as well - exactly what i wanted.
But its pants. The wheels keep buckling and the back wheels are so badly designed that the lil lever which unlocks the wheels to take them off can easily be knocked and i've been walking down the road only to notice just in time the wheel coming off (infact one time it actually did but luckily i was holding the handles firmly at the time).
so we decided to complain - kiddicare - and their reaction? we have to send it in and be without a buggy for 3 days! or bring it in to their shop (other side of the country from us) and if they decide there's nothing wrong we have to pay £30 for their time. problem is if they do fix it i just don't want it - its too unreliable and badly designed.
so what do i do? i cant afford another pushchair and the clip in carseat is very handy. argh >.<
i have fallen in love with a britax now to boot - it has a lie flat starting position then converts into a pushchair which can be parent facing which i want and then even better is a lie flat car seat!!! (although it does take up two seats which could be a problem really)
so these are my woes - just needed a lil rant really and a warning to you all!

All Alone....
So this is my first weekend completly alone with Paige, My partner Russ is away on a stag weekend and so far I think I'm coping alright. Yesturday I felt quite lonely almost imediatly after he left, popped out for a bit with paigey in the harness and then put her down for the night intending to get a good nights sleep myself. But could I sleep...nooooo >.<
Anyway today hasnt been too bad really, been out running some errands and paigey seems quite content most of the time. But I can't wait for tomorrow evening to come.
It's Official...
I'm becoming a cloth nappy advisor.
Who would have known 3 months ago I would grow an addiction and an obsession so big that I would ultimately do this!
My account has been set up and all I'm waiting for now is my starter kit. I do love fluffy post albeit nappies I can't use!
So now I've created a blog and intend on creating a facebook page too but what else?
Introduction
When I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Paige in April I knew that I wanted her to be a cloth bum. But I had hardly any knowledge and had bought the first cheap set I could get my hands on without really knowing what I was buying.
When I came to try these nappies the first time I found them bulky, uncomfortable looking and just plain difficult. Needless to say I ended up not using them.
But I was undeterred! I logged onto some forums and found out they were what people called pre-folds and wraps. Now there are mixed reviews about these nappies, some people love them and some people hate them! Unfortunately I came into the latter category. Through these forums I learnt a bit more about the wonderful world of reusable nappies and went on to purchase some new ones through a site recommended on there.
And that's when I fell in love, and grew a full blown addiction!
So here I am today becoming a cloth nappy advisor and deciding to create my own blog to go alongside it!
Paige turns 3 months this week and we have a reasonable stash of around 16 nappies at the moment but with many many more to come.
I hope to diary little things about my experiences as a first time mum along with NAPPIES!!!
