Success!

Well a little while ago i managed to make contact with the Devon Real Nappy project!
I met with two really lovely ladies yesterday and i am now going to set up to advise for them and to run some trial kits for my local area!

This is so exciting, i even mentioned some ideas i had for events and they seemed interested so i'm glad i don't seem like some mad nappy obsessed weirdo lol!

So its time to dive back into my nappy advising and really get things moving at last :)

Tesco's stock Tot Bots

Tesco's have started to stock UK based cloth nappy company tot bot's nappies.

This in one sense is a major break through for the cloth nappy world as before now the only cloth nappies available in stores like this were pre-folds and terry's - not the ideal promotion for the modern and easy world of fluff! Now Tesco's are stocking Tot Bots easy-fit's a wonderful pocket nappy in funky patterns and colours (and actually one of my favourites)

Now whilst this is great for the promotion of cloth nappies you cant help but wonder what this will mean for the little independent online shops and even the WAHM mums.

Councils, papers and what not

why is my council so weird, I'm finding it very difficult to find out to who to contact in my local council for cloth nappying. There's a devon real nappy project too which seems just as difficult to contact and get involved with! argh >.<

on another note i sent some press releases to my local papers so here's hoping something might come of them!

Naming Day

Last weekend we held Paige's naming day and it went rather well! My partner and myself being rather non christian (me pagan and him well undecided!) we decided to hold a pagan based naming ceremony ourselves. I was kinda worried mostly how my family would take it as most of them are christian but overall it went down very well :) everyone loved the words and sentiment we used :)

milk powder pots

i had a random thought about those little milk dispenser pots you can get for formula and i was wondering to myself - shouldn't they be banned? i mean arent they encouraging the worst possible way of making up formula, unless of course you heat up the water properly when out before dispensing i guess, but i doubt (and have seen first hand) that this is not the way they are used.

just a random thought i say but one to ponder on perhaps. might put it on my facebook and see what reaction i get!

Taking Time

a lot of things these days seem to take up too much time and i have little for the things i wish to get done. this blog and my cloth website being main ones.

i now have a new desk in my HUGE office area which i have spent today sorting out various amounts of paperwork and such like, alot of which was much overdue. I am hoping that this will mean i have more time in the future to actually work on such things but as i also return to uni tomorrow it may be false hope! only time will tell....

i also wish to try out making my own nappies with the future intention of creating the start of a WAHM business, this would be the idea but again only time will tell.

however for now i aim to at least update this blog a little more often than i have been :)

new home at last!

ok its been a while but i have been moving after all!

we are now in our new home and its amazing, its so nice to have proper space at last, so much more room for paige and all her stuff!

the nappuccino went ok, not as well as i would have hoped but i may have one lady at least!

been trying the pop in bamboo's as night nappies (with extra dri night booster) for the last couple of weeks and they work a treat!! just ordered another one today :)
